The following vacancies exist within the INFRASTRUCTURE & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (IED) DEPARTMENT: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER Total Cost to Employer: R 348 639 pa Reporting to the Manager: IED Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following, inter alia: Coordinating and controlling the application of accounting procedures within the Section by attending to verification, reporting, processing and reconciliation of income and expenditure accounts Preparing statistical reports depicting short to medium term expenditure trends inclusive of explanations to support specific deviations Interacting with internal and external auditors and make available information, supporting documentation and proofs of approval guiding specific recordings, adjustments and allocation of Income and Expenditure Accounts Providing support with regards to the consolidation on income and expenditure transactional information to facilitate the production of Financial Statements Analyzing and verifying transactional recordings, income and expenditure reports and summaries Reconciling debtors and creditors accounts and proceeding with the posting and balancing of ledger accounts Updating files and record keeping systems Requirements A valid Grade 12 certificate A Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification A minimum of three – four (3 - 4) years experience within the related environment. Experience within the local government sphere will be an added advantage A valid code B driver’s licence NB: Suitably qualified women are particularly encouraged to apply, as the municipality seeks to achieve its Employment Equity targets.
