The Municipality seeks to appoint suitably qualified persons to the following positions within the
WATER SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
SENIOR DRAUGHTSPERSON
Total Annual Salary: R 177 033 pa
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Water Services Authority and Administration, the successful candidate will
be responsible for the following duties, inter-alia:
- Receiving technical documentation and applying specific procedures, to transfer layers various applications
and programmes.
- Updating data using application tools and procedures, applying instructions to change and format layers.
- Assessing relevant fields and capturing data, applying processing rules and procedures.
- Checking and validating entries, referring to information sources to resolve anomalies/ discrepancies and/
or manipulating data characters to achieve consistency.
- Storing data records based on recognisable attributes confirming to entity descriptions.
- Applying specific transaction processing programs, applications and/ or utilities to update/ change records.
- Identifying and fixing inconsistencies, referring to specific sources of information and/ or specifications.
- Confirming the accurateness of the database through the application of specific tests using system tools.
- Manipulating data trough processes of selecting, projecting and joining or linking databases.
- Using database interrogation capabilities, keying in inquires and specifying report formats.
- Setting and adjusting peripheral devices, scanning images or, using mapping software or graphic user
interface techniques to create layout drawings.
Requirements:
- A valid Grade 12 certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Survey
- A minimum of 3 years relevant cad experience
- A valid, code EB driver's licence
- Ability to communicate in English and iSiZulu
